LOUGHBOROUGH Dynamo FC is urging sports clubs and residents to get behind its appeal to collect unwanted football kits for underprivileged football teams across Africa.

The club took part in ‘Kits for Africa’ for the first time last season and was overwhelmed by the support it received with more than 2,000 pieces of kit donated.

It is an initiative launched by sport betting company SportPESA with backing from Premiership football clubs Everton and Southampton and carries even more meaning for Loughborough Dynamo this season following a new sponsorship deal with SportPESA.

Stuart Busby, commercial director at Loughborough Dynamo, said the response to the idea had been amazing last season and he hoped this season would be even better.

“We managed to accumulate over 2,000 items - shirts, shorts, socks, caps, shin pads and football boots were all kindly donated. Only Hull City and Everton Football Club had managed to collect more than we did.”

This year the club is looking to collect boots, socks, shin pads, shorts, shirts, boot bags and goalkeeper gloves.
