Post-menopausal women sought
AN APPEAL for postmenopausal women aged between 45 and 52 years are needed for a study by the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine at Loughborough University.
It is aimed at women who are interested to learn how a short session of walking affects your blood vessels, or whether nutrient intake can be of benefit to their cardiovascular health.
It is looking for women at least one year postmenopausal, taking part in at least two hours of structured exercise per week, non-smokers, with no known cardiovascular disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, or other chronic diseases, and on no medications.
It will involve three visits to the laboratory over a two-month period.
Measurements to be taken include blood samples, blood pressure, resting ECG reviewed by a cardiologist, a fitness test, 10-year cardiovascular disease risk score, and non-invasive measurements looking at the structure and function of your blood vessels .
