Firefighter Have A Go days planned
SEVERAL Have A Go days to allow those interested in becoming a wholetime firefighter to have a go and find out more about the role are being planned in Leicestershire.
This includes fitness level requirements and what the job entails, the opportunity to speak with current firefighters about how they find the job, as well as one of their recruitment champions about any queries you may have.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service is appealing to those who think they would make a great addition to the service to come forward.
They are specifically interested in attracting women, those who are from a Black, Asian or minority ethnic background, those who identify as LGBT+ or those who have certain disabilities, such as Dyslexia or Dyspraxia, to consider a career with the service.
Have A Go taster events are planned for Saturday, October 6, for women only; Sunday, October 7, for LGBT and BAME only; plus Saturday and Sunday, October 13 and 14, open to all.

Rick Taylor, Chief Fire and Rescue Officer, said: ““In order to begin to reflect our diverse communities, we will focus our recruitment campaign on encouraging applications from underrepresented groups, including women, black and minority ethnic and our LGBT+ communities.”
