STEVE HACKETT

Nottingham

-

FORMER Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett is hitting the road for a new eight-city UK tour with a full live band and orchestra.

Hackett will be bringing his live show to Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall on Monday, when he’ll be performing a number of his own solo pieces as well as some of Genesis’s most recognisable tracks, such as Supper’s Ready, Dancing With The Moonlit Knight and Firth Of Fifth.

The idea for the UK tour next month first came about after Hackett gave a one-off performance of music from Genesis Revisited albums backed by his own band and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in the US, which received rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

“I always hoped that the Genesis music would one day involve an orchestra and I’m proud to say I’ll now be able to make that dream a reality on my next British tour, involving my own extraordinary rock band alongside a full-sized orchestra,” Hackett said of the new shows, which will kick off in Nottingham.

“I’m thrilled the forthcoming UK shows featuring full orchestra with the band are selling so well, and I’m excited we’re adding two extra dates.”

With three of his eight October UK shows already sold out, he added: “This promises to be an incredibly special experience!”

The tour will visit Nottingham Royal Concert Hall on Monday, October 1. Tickets are available from trch.co.uk for £34.50 to £39.50.
