STEVE PEAT

-

MOUNTAIN biking legend Steve Peat will be giving fans an insight into his impressive career as one of the world’s greatest men’s downhill mountain bike racers with a new show coming to Nottingham and Buxton in Derbyshire.

With his new Bikes And Beers tour, Peat – who was inducted into the MTB Hall of Fame earlier this year – will let fans in on the ins and outs of his illustrious racing career, including everything that went on both in front of and behind the scenes as he rose from a plumber to a mountain biking champion.

Speaking of his upcoming engagements, which will see him tell his story at venues all around the UK throughout October and November, he said: “It’s funny how I probably feel more nervous for this than I would dropping into a World Cup track!”

Peat will be telling his story with no holes barred since he began his career in the early 1990s, racing through the ranks in a time where training, nutrition and fitness regimes weren’t quite so regimented. That left a lot of time open for the biker to enjoy himself with fellow racers such as Rob Warner and Shaun Palmer.

Among his career accolades, he boats being the 2009 UCI DH World Champion, three-time World Cup Champion, nine-time British National Champion and two-time European Champion in one of the most enduring downhill racing careers. He’s also won 17 World Cup races and reached the World Cup podium 52 times, with over two decades racing at the Elite level.

Steve Peat will be telling his story at Nottingham Playhouse on October 23 and at Buxton Opera House on November 6 as part of his Bikes And Beers tour. Tickets for the Nottingham show cost £19.50 from nottingham playhouse.co.uk, while tickets for his Buxton appearance are £20 from buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.
