Nottingham THIS is your chance to enjoy afternoon tea with a Doctor Who and Game Of Thrones star.

Mark Gatiss is offering one lucky fan the chance to pick his brain about his extensive and impressive filmography alongside fellow actor Adrian Scarborough, who’s most famous for playing the role of Pete in the much-loved British sitcom Gavin & Stacey.

League Of Gentlemen co-creator, co-writer and star Mark has not just taken on a host of roles in Doctor Who over the years, he has also written episodes starring Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi. He has also appeared as Tycho Nestoris in four episodes of Game Of Thrones and is a novelist whose other TV writing credits include the hugely popular Sherlock series, which he co-created with Steven Moffat and in which he appeared as Sherlock’s brother Mycroft.

His other acting credits include roles in Disney’s new Winnie the Pooh release Christopher Robin, and as Glenn Bulb in the comedy series Nighty Night.

Adrian is another popular actor, also known for appearances in Cranford, Psychoville, Miranda, Doctor Who, Upstairs, Downstairs, Mrs Biggs, A Very English Scandal and in films including Gosford Park, The History Boys and Dirty Pretty Things.

Gatiss and Scarborough will be starring in the Nottingham Playhouse production of The Madness Of George III, and are auctioning off an afternoon tea together to raise money for Nottingham Playhouse’s 70th Anniversary Fund.

Stephanie Sirr, chief executive at Nottingham Playhouse, said: “Afternoon tea with Mark Gatiss and Adrian Scarborough is the first of many amazing prizes we’re due to offer at our exclusive 70th Anniversary gala auction.

“Many people don’t realise that Nottingham Playhouse is a charity, and so we are continually looking to raise funds for the important work we do at the theatre, and within the community. We hope to raise a total of £25,000 through our gala event, so watch this space for the announcement of even more exciting ‘money-can’t-buy’ prizes.”

Tea with the stars will be up for auction at the venue on November 22.

Stephanie added: “We’re so grateful that Mark Gatiss and Adrian Scarborough are supporting our work and very thankful to our gala sponsor Russell Scanlan.

“The gala is set to be lots of fun, with a number of famous faces due to join us at the event – we want it to be a chance for people to get dressed up, enjoy an amazing show and raise money for causes that really do make a huge difference to people in Nottingham and the East Midlands.” Tickets for the gala are £80 from nottinghamplayhouse.co.uk.
