LAOS are preparing for The Producers

-

NO SOONER have they stepped off stage following their successful production of Guys and Dolls, than Loughborough theatre company LAOS are back in rehearsals for their next show, Mel Brooks’ insanely funny comedy The Producers.

From bonkers characters to a score with famous numbers like Springtime For Hitler, Haben Sie Gehort Das Deutsche Band, Keep It Gay, When You’ve Got It, Flaunt It, Der Guten Tag Hop-Clop, Betrayed, Til Him and I Wanna To Be A Producer, this is Mel Brooks at his very best.

Jez Malpas returns to the LAOS cast as hapless producer Max Bialystock, a role he has played with distinction on the Loughborough stage before.

Josh Hill joins him in his scheme to put on the worst show in history as the timid and neurotic Leo Bloom, while Matthew Leeson takes the role of the insane ex-Nazi Franz Liebkind and Paige Brierley is Swedish blonde bombshell Ulla.

Supporting roles are taken by Mark Chinnery as Roger DeBris, Cameron Sim as Carmen Ghia, Richard York as Mr Marks, Adrian Dobson as the Stormtrooper and Linda Adlam as Hold Me-Touch Me.

James Nelson is back in the director’s chair for LAOS with Kate King as musical director and Harriet North taking on her first production team role as choreographer.

The Producers is at Loughborough Town Hall from March 5-9 next year and tickets are already selling fast.

Tickets are available from company members or the Town Hall box office on 01509 231914 or www. loughboroughtownhall.co.uk
