Votes are counted and winners revealed for the Scaresheep Festival 2018

THE VOTES have been counted and the winners have now been unveiled for the 2018 Shepshed Scaresheep Festival.

Best Household (voted by the public): Winner: The Hairy Baakers (The Whitmores), Runners up: Hogwarts (Keith Brown) and The Baawash (The Brookes). Best Organisati­on/ Business (voted by the public): Winner: Old Sta- tion Close Residentia­l Home, Runners up: Shepshed RFC and Constella Service Centre. Best Organisati­on/Business (voted by the Town Council): Winner: Constella Service Centre, Runners up: Old Station Close and Shepshed RFC.

The Best Street Collaborat­ion went to Forest Street for their outdoor pursuits theme. The win- ner of the prize draw was Robert Barker who will receive a hamper.

Trophies will be handed out at the Volunteer Centre’s annual public meeting on October 31 at St Botolphs Hall from 1pm.

Event organiser Angie Whitmore thanked everyone for supporting the festival which raised £450 for the volunteer centre.

“We would like to thank everyone who took part or helped in any way for the festival, it was another great success!

“Next year we will be adding a further category for the best school/nursery, and we look forward to seeing the entries come in next year.

“The 2019 event will be held on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6.”
