Christmas in Charnwood

-

LOVE Loughborough BID is creating an ‘Elf on the Shelf’ themed Christmas trail around Loughborough town centre to encourage shoppers to shop local this Christmas.

Forty- five local businesses are participating in the trail, each hiding their own special named Elf within their premises for shoppers to find.

Once shoppers have matched 12 Elves names to their allocated shop, they just complete a simple form for the chance to win more than £300 of Love Loughborough vouchers which can be spent in any of the participating shops or businesses.

Every week a winner will be drawn to receive £50’s worth of vouchers that can then be spent in any of the ‘Elf’ participating shops. The big winner, who is drawn the last week before Christmas will win a £100 voucher!

The vouchers will be in denominations of £5 to enable shoppers to spend in

multiple shops and have a wide choice of purchases.

Some of the establishments who are restricted with accepting vouchers have offered additional prizes so they can get involved – so keep an eye out for the special elf draws !

Participating stores are varied and include places to eat and drink as well as shop.

A full list of the ‘Elf’ shops

can be found on the Love Loughborough website and Facebook page.

Entry forms are free and can be downloaded from their website or hard copies can be collected from the Love Loughborough office.

Lisa Brown, BID manager said: “Both adults and children can enjoy hunting for elves and it encourages visitors to go in to shops that they

maybe wouldn’t ordinarily visit. We have some great independent shops in Loughborough and this trail helps people to shop local on the high street.”

Lez Cope Newman, BID chairman added: “This is an exciting and new trail that we haven’t done in Loughborough before.

“The businesses have been really keen to get involved and they can’t wait to start spreading the festive cheer. I have been informed that there is a cheeky elf called Lez hiding somewhere in the town too!”

Winners will be announced weekly in the Loughborough Echo. The Elves are ready to be found, so if you want to be in with a chance of winning some vouchers before Christmas get your form now so you can go and find them!

Don’t forget if you can get your purchases professionally wrapped for free from the Love Loughborough Elves on Wednesday 5th and 12th December, 11am to 7pm, and Sunday 23rd December, from 11am to 3pm in the Carillon Court Shopping Centre.

Full details can be found at: www.loveloughborough. co.uk or https://www.facebook. com/ Loveloughborough/

The trail finishes on Friday 21st December to enable the Elves to get back to Santa related duties!
