The Royal Oak Shooters bounce back to the top

THE Royal Oak Shooters beat Spot On Waifs and Strays 8-1 to bounce back to the top of Blue Ball Division One of the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs & Clubs Darts League last week.

They replace the Bull and Bush Lions who lost 5-4 to the Three Crowns Spookies despite Tony Spencer hitting two maximums in the game for the lions. Bottom Railway BA maintain their unbeaten start to the season and are second a point behind the leaders after their 6-3 win against Royal Oak DP with the ‘lions’ and ‘Spookies’ equal third.

In Wanty’s Division Two Ryan Page hit a maximum for the Spot On Reds as they inflicted the first defeat of the new season on leaders Blacksmith­s Exiles with a 5-4 win. The Royal Oak Bluemoon Foxes therefore take over at the top after their 6-3 win against Spot On Rejects. The ‘Reds’ move up to second place and the ‘Exiles’ down to third as a result.

In S H Cox Division Three, the Crown Rejects beat the Three Nuns Albion 7-2 in the top of the table clash to leapfrog them into the top spot. The Bull and Bush Laughing Boys beat the Bell Foundry Mandem 6-3 and are third ahead of the Black Swan who lost by the same score to the Spot On Guy ‘n’ Gals.

In Generous Briton Division Four the Black Swan BWA are the only other unbeaten side in the league so far this season and lead the division after their 6-3 win against the Spot On Foxes. Tap and Clapper Rojo’s are second after their 6-3 win against the Generous Briton Beer Legs and Wally Palmer hit a maximum for the Dewdrop Blues as they beat the Anchor 5-4 in a village clash and the two Hathern sides are locked in equal third.

Finally in Jim Kidger Division Five leaders Rose and Crown Rockets beat the Three Nuns Bad Habits 6-3 and the Blue Ball JLA move up to second place after their 7-2 win against the Plough Ernie’s. The White Hart Stags beat the early leaders Blacksmith­s Hammers 6-3 and move up to third and ahead of them in the division.
