Free entry to Twycross for Armed Forces

-

IN RECOGNITION of local heroes who may be working over the festive bank holidays, Twycross Zoo is giving the gift of 12 days of free entry to all serving Armed Forces, Emergency Services and NHS staff this December.

From December 1 through to Wednesday, December 12, every hero that presents their ID at the conservation charity’s ticket office will be granted free entry to the zoo for the day.

Twycross Zoo’s Chief Operating Officer, Karen Clarke, said: “Christmas is a busy time of year for everyone but especially those in our armed forces, emergency services and NHS. We want to acknowledge and celebrate all the hard work and dedication these employees provide to support our country and communities and help them to enjoy a great Christmas as a family.

“We look forward to welcoming those individuals and their families to see The Great Brick Safari and enjoy our Santa experience on selected dates too.”

This Christmas there is so much to see and do at the zoo – more than just the usual two minute Santa visit. Join in with Santa’s storytime, meet Santa and pets, take a stroll with Santa and William the Donkey and Santa’s Key Tree makes a welcome return too!

The Twycross Zoo Discovery and Learning team are on hand to ensure the animals enjoy the season too as they lead themed arts and crafts sessions for little ones to create enrichment treats. See Snow leopards, penguins, giraffes and their friends enjoying their festive delights. The zoo is also home to the state-of-the-art jungle-like habitat Chimpanzee Eden, and is the only place in the UK, and one of four worldwide where visitors can see all four types of Great Ape, gorilla, orang utan, chimpanzee and bonobo.

Santa and seasonal activities are on selected dates at set times and are included with your zoo admission. See website for more details.
