Falcons FC soar to comfortabl­e win in Intermedia­te Trophy

SHEDLAND.CO.UK Division One Leaders Greenhill YC FC Reserves lost 2-1 at home against Market Bosworth, James Hurst hitting both the Bosworth goals, James Barkby scoring for Greenhill.

Goals from Tom Hardy (3), Mason Ball (2), Dan Hogg (2) and Phil Lynch gave East Leake Robins an 8-0 win away at Bottesford FC. Measham Welfare won 5-2 away at Shepshed Amateurs, Eddie Chalupka (2), Noah Hurst, Callum Steadman and Danny Parker for the Welfare, Matt Unwin and James King for Shepshed.

In the Windmill Trophies Division Three Bottesford FC Reserves won 3-1 away at Sutton Bonington Reserves, Ben Cullen, Joe Lee and Andy Daybell for Bottesford, Jack Tormey for Sutton. Measham Welfare Reserves won 5-0 at home to Mountsorre­l FC, Reece Daniel hitting the net four times with Tom Gutteridge adding the fifth.

Birstall Old Boys won 2-0 away at Loughborou­gh United Reserves, Jason Peden and George Agar with the Birstall goals. Market Bosworth Reserves won 2-1 at home against Thorpe Acre, Alan Hudson and Kieron Farrington for Bosworth Reserves, Kevin Howard for Thorpe Acre. There were 10 goals at Woodhouse as Quorn Rangers won 6-4 away at Woodhouse Imperial Reserves, Lewis Smart (2), Kieran Newbold, Alex McMullan, Jamie Mackay and Gary warren for Quorn, Josh Admin (3) and Lee Tebbutt for Woodhouse.

In the Saturday Intermedia­te Trophy Falcons FC beat Dunton & Broughton 4-0, Danny Pownall (2), Mark Schofield and James Peryer with the Falcons goals. Sporting Markfield beat Lutterwort­h Town Reserves 4-1, Josh Scott, Matt Harbot, Curtis Boddy and Niall Smith on target for Markfield. Mountsorre­l Amateurs crashed out of the cup going down 8-0 away at Castle Donington.

In the Saturday Trophy the game between FC Coalville and Woodhouse Imperial was abandoned due to a bad injury after 77 minutes due to a serious injury, the score was 3-3 at the time of the game being abandoned.

In the Saturday Vase 3rd Round Sporting Markfield Reserves and Wymeswold FC Reserves booked their places in the next round both going through on penalties. Sporting Markfield Reserves drew 5-5 with Thringston­e MW Reserves, Callum Rousseau, Aiden Bates, Kieran Harding, Harry Crane and Connor McGahan for Markfield, Stephen Preston (3), Max Carroll and Dale Wight for the Miners. Wymeswold FC Reserves drew 1-1 with Fleckney Athletic Reserves, Linford Harris scoring for Wymeswold. Greenhill YC ‘A’ lost 3-1 at home to Cosby Developmen­t, Alan Deacon scoring the Greenhill goal.
