Half-term family fun at Twycross Zoo

TWYCROSS Zoo is calling for visitors to grab their wellies and waterproof­s for a fun-filled, family day out this February half-term, whatever the weather!

Book now and take advantage of super savings with tickets for £11 per adult and £5.50 per child from February 16-24 - a saving of up to £11.45 per ticket.

Whatever the weather may be – stroll in the winter sun, march through the unpredicta­ble snow or splash in as many puddles as you can. Discover over 500 animals of 125 different species, some of the rarest on the planet! Find out more about some of Twycross Zoo’s most popular species in its jam-packed programme of daily animal talks by their very own rangers.

Escape any February drizzle by exploring Butterfly Forest filled with a varitey of tropical butter- flies, bugs, reptiles and more; see how many lorikeets you can make friends with as you feed them by hand in their indoor aviary; as well as Gibbon Forest, Giraffe Savannah, monkey houses and more, all with indoor viewing areas.

Don’t miss the award-winning £3.5m habitat, Chimpanzee Eden, built last year. Discover the curious world of chimps as you’re transporte­d to the jungle. Watch in awe as these apes thunder over your head in tunnels which lead out into their giant outdoor habitat. Get up close and personal with these creatures with various viewing windows and platforms.

After all the monkeying around, relax in the Himalaya visitor centre with a hot drink from Costa or lunch at The View Restaurant, both overlookin­g the Snow leopard habitat – a perfect spot to see the beautiful big cats enjoying the chilly weather. The family-friendly venue hosts a giant, indoor, soft play jungle to keep children aged 0 – 12 years old entertaine­d.

Twycross Zoo relies on the generosity of its visitors to support its conservati­on work. Ticket prices are £5.50 for children and £11 for adults, under two’s go free as standard. Prices include voluntary gift aid donation. Admission excluding gift aid is £5 for children and £10 for adults.
