Welsh Society meeting saw a welcome return of Bob and Delyth Neill, with their very interesting form of Quiz.

Bob stated that he started with his “Bits and Bobs” after ending up with a load of odd and ends from his Grandfather’s farm.

Having started off as a “one off” quiz for a friend, news gradually spread over the years and now his “touring” quiz event covers the Counties of Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and Rutland.

He continues to visit Antique Fairs etc. looking for obscure items to add to his collection, and has a number of books and magazines to help him identify anything unusual.

He is involved with organisations such W.I. and other groups and societies. At present he has some 25 boxes of “goodies” in store, so that he is able to deliver a different set should he return to an old venue.

For his latest visit to the Welsh Society he spread his items among the Teams organised, giving each a chance to guess “what is it” from a list of 20 items.

The winners managed a score of 10, which Bob said was about average for his visits.

His wife Delyth took the opportunity at the end to explain fully what each item was called and what it was used for. They ranged

from “Tablet Maker”, to” Wig Holder”, to “Button Hole Maker” and even “Ink Pot”.

Thanking Bob and Delyth for a very interesting meeting, Jane Jones, society president, said how much the members had enjoyed the experience. She also reminded members to sign up for the St David’s Day Lunch.
