Sherwood Forest wildlife

THE next monthly General Meeting of Whitwick and District U3A will be on Friday, February 15.

This will be another opportunity to discover how the U3A can support the wellbeing of retired people through self-help activities. U3A members are involved in a wide range of Interest Groups where people with similar interests meet and pursue their hobbies in a convivial manner.

At the general meeting, group leaders and others will be available to answer questions and pass on information about our U3A.

February’s guest speaker will be Barbara Meyer who will talk about the wildlife of Sherwood Forest.

This is a return visit for Barbara who has conducted wildlife surveys in the wider Sherwood Forest area and raised awareness for wildlife in Britain over several years.

This presentation will cover what wildlife species Barbara has been able to record in the famous forest and what might influence wildlife distribution in natural habitat areas like Sherwood.
