Open air performances of Wind in the Willows

-

BRADGATE PARK is to host performances of Wind in the Willows this summer.

It will be performed outdoors in the ruins of Bradgate House.

Spring is in the air and Mole has found a wonderful new world. There’s boating with Ratty, a feast with Badger and high jinx on the open road with that reckless ruffian, Mr Toad.

What more could such firm friends wish for?

But after Toad’s latest escapade, can they join together and beat the wretched weasels?

Join Mole, Ratty and Badger on their mad-cap adventures in this heart-warming tale of friendship, mishap and mayhem in Quantum Theatre’s brand new adaptation of Kenneth Grahamse’s family favourite.

The show is being performed by Quantum Theatre on August 8 at 2.30pm, and on August 9 at 11am and then at 2.30pm.

Organisers say allow time for your walk from either the Newtown Linford car park (0.7 miles through Little Matlock) or 1.2 miles from Hallgates via the reservoir and visitor centre. There are signs guiding the route. Car parking is £3 for the day - so why not enjoy a full day at Bradgate?

The Ruins of Bradgate House will be opened one hour before

the show so you can set up for picnics.

The area is grass but no benches so bring low back chairs, picnic rugs. Please be considerate about large umbrellas or tented covers/windbreaks with regard to other visitors.

They have limited numbers to

300 (so the space has plenty of room).

There will be two portable toilets on site and an ice-cream bike.

The company will be using a sound system but it is live, outdoor and happens whatever the weather (except extreme lightning storms!) No refunds unless they cancel.

The show is in two halves, each about 40-45 minutes with a 20-minute interval.

See the Bradgate Park website at https://www.bradgatepark. org/Pages/Events/ for more details.
