Bull and Bush Lions open up five point lead at the top of Division One table

BULL and Bush Lions beat the Rose & Crown AW 7-2 and now lead Blue Ball Division One of the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs and Clubs Darts League by five points and with a game in hand on their rivals after last week’s results.

Chris Peat hit his fourth maximum of the season for second place Bottom Railway BA and Leon Jarram his fourth for the Ring ‘o’ Bells in a game that ‘the Railway’ won 5-4, and Jamie Preston also hit his fourth of the summer for the Royal Oak Reds as they lost 7-2 to their pub rivals the Royal Oak Shooters. The trio share the lead in the hunt for the coveted most maximums in the season for division one trophy, from Mark Wagg who hit his third for Barrow Cons Wagg’s Gang in their 7-2 win against Royal Oak DP, a game that also produced maximums for ‘DP’s’ Dean Maxwell and Luke Askew.

In Wanty’s Division Two, leaders Spot On Mandems and second place Spot On Waifs & Strays both won 7-2 against the Bell Foundry Blue Army and Crown Hotel respective­ly. Whilst third place Crown Rejects lost ground on the top two as they were beaten 5-4 by Fat Sam’s Tart’s. Frank Bray hit a maximum, his third of the season for the Crown Hotel in their defeat, and he leads the field in the race for the division two to five most maximums in the season trophy.

In S H Cox Division Three Plough B beat leaders Black Swan BWA 6-3 so the Bull and Bush Laughing Boys take over at the top after their 7-2 win against the Top Railway Chunkle Brothers and OEG 5&4’s move up to third place with their 5-4 win against the Bull and Bush Gatecrashe­rs.

In Generous Briton Division Four leaders Top Railway Knockouts beat the Tap and Clapper Rojo’s 6-3 to extend their lead to ten points from second place Three Nuns Right Footers who lost 5-4 to the Generous Briton Beer Legs.

Finally in Jim Kidger Division Five the Dewdrop Blues beat the Blacksmith­s Bombshells who are now playing from the Spot On 7-2. They stay five points clear of Barrow Cons B who beat the Windmill Wild Hearts and Crown CS who beat the OEG Sambuca’s 6-3.
