Bands take the stage at Rosebery Community Centre

-

ROSEBERY Community Centre has hosted a successful end of term live music gig, called Live@ Rosebery which, it is hoped, will be the first of many.

This event was organised and performed by sixth form musicians from schools and colleges around Loughborough.

After all expenses were paid the students made a profit of £164 which, together with a similar event at Fearon Hall, raised a total of £306 for the charity Young Mental Health.

The audience of were entertained to a great night of music with five bands performing during the evening.

The evening was opened by Duo Tapes followed by Dan Hewitt who played songs from is EP, Nothing Serious, Rogue Aglets a funk band who play regularly at the Cask Bar Open Mics.

They were then joined by Izzy and Dan, winners of Acoustic Act at this year’s Glastonbudget festival. They performed a mixture of funky pop classics and chill jazzy hip hop tunes.

Pale Velvet, a high-spirited grunge band played next, followed by the headliner band SpaceToast who play regularly in Leicester the venues, The Shed and Cookie.

The enthusiastic crowd of friends and some parents certainly had a great time with dancing and singing along to the music performed by this very talented group of musicians.

The evening gave all who attended a really inexpensive night of entertainment and an excellent opportunity for up and coming artists to have a platform to show their talents.

All who attended congratulated the musicians, singers and stage production crew on their amazing performance and it is certainly hoped that with an excellent stage and hall, Rosebery Community Centre will be asked to hold more gigs in the future.
