Proms Spectacular at Bradgate Park
PREPARATIONS are being finalised for this year’s Bradgate Proms Spectacular.
Guest soloists, wildlife friendly pyrotechnics and a light show will add to the flavour of this great night in the Ruins of Bradgate House on Saturday, August 17.
This is the park’s annual spectacular event with the Bardi Wind Orchestra performing. This event includes film, traditional and popular music - so something for everyone.
On site parking will be available via Hallgates car park, which opens at 5.30pm and the event starts at 7pm, finishing around 9.30pm. Parking is included in your ticket fee
People can bring picnics and the Ruins open 90 minutes before the performance.
Blue badge parking is on the Deer Meadow this year, vehicles will be directed to park close to the Deer Barn Building. Customers who are unable to walk or require assistance will be driven in a buggy to the ticket entrance.
There will be no alcohol sales, but they are happy for visitors to bring their own (they allow glass but please alert them if there are breakages as the area is rich in wildlife).
There will be portable toilets on site. There are no drinking water points in the Ruins, but there will be drink and ice cream on sale in the Ruins.
Deer do live in the Ruins - the grass will have been cut a few days before but visitors are warned - they do poo!
Barbecues, dogs (other than assistance) or camping are not allowed.
A spokesperson said: “Please do clear up your litter/take it home... help us care for the historic ruins - and protect the deer that live there. We also have an event the next day so please do help the team by doing this!
“No tents/mega umbrellas; high backed chairs - do consider others around you..... bring rugs; low backed chairs, and if you need shade, the small shelters are okay.”
