-

LOCAL and national names will join the Trust to celebrate Bradgate Park at its family friendly Acoustic and Folk Music Picnic fund-raising day on Sunday, August 18.

A spokesperson said: “Bring a picnic, relax and enjoy a great day out in the wonderful setting of Bradgate Park, Leicestershire’s historic deer park.

“We are proud to have a fantastic lineup of local and national names performing in the Ruins of Bradgate House, across seven sets starting from midday, with the event closing at 8pm.

“Local performers include Daryl Kirkland, Dave Kirk, David Wyatt and opening at midday will be The Ruby Doos.

“During the day we will also be joined by The Jigantics.

“We also have confirmed the amazing Harri Endersby. Growing up in County Durham and its thriving folk scene, her music has been heavily influenced by the region’s crowd of prestigious folk singers and musicians, her lyrics being firmly rooted in the pastoral and the world of story-telling.

“Headlining will be Jim Moray, performing early evening. For 15 years he has been at the forefront of a new movement in English traditional music. His debut album Sweet England changed the sound of folk song and won a brace of awards for its innovative melding of orchestration and electronica.”
