More acts to join Long Road Festival

-

THE Long Road festival, which presents one of the UK’s largest, most authentic celebrations of country, Americana and roots music, has confirmed a raft of additional acts for this year’s event.

Having already announced performances from the likes of million-selling US singer-songwriters Kip Moore and Josh Turner, nine-time Grammy-winning Asleep At The Wheel, who make their first full-band appearance in the UK for over 10 years, American comedian, writer and musician Rich Hall, BAFTA-nominated Irish singer and actress Jessie Buckley and Grammywinning US country singer Suzy Bogguss, the organisers have added more acts to the line-up for the three-day event which takes place at Stanford Hall in Leicestershire.

Among the new acts joining the bill is US country singer-songwriter Logan Mize. Mize, who has garnered over 100 million streams on Spotify, has deep musical roots in his family tree as his great uncle was Billy Mize, largely known for crafting and evolving the legendary Bakersfield sound, which included musical pioneers Merle Haggard and Buck Owens. Also just announced is rising star country/pop singer Twinnie.

Canadian singer-songwriter Jessica Mitchell, Nashville based producer DJ Hish, who has gained global recognition for his unique electro-infused spin on country music, disco bandoleros Flying Mojito Bros, who fuse traditional country with funk and electronic sounds, and Americana duo Loud Mountains are all also new additions.

The festival will once again present a range of stage takeovers featuring specialist country and Americana organisations including The Bluegrass Situation (BGS), an online music magazine and curator promoting the continued growth of bluegrass, roots, progressive folk rock, Americana music and culture, The Americana Music Association UK, and independent UK label Loose Records. Line-up details below.

Alongside its varied live performance spaces, which range from the Rhinestone County main stage, to the muchtalked-about Honky Tonk Bar, The Long Road Festival will also offer songwriters’ rounds, a wellness area, a classic American car display, traditional Southernstyle food stalls, heritage crafts and workshops, dedicated kids’ area and much more.

The Long Road will take place at Stanford Hall from September 6–8. Day tickets start at £45, Weekend No Camping tickets at £100 and Weekend Camping tickets start at £130. Tickets are available from www.thelongroad.com
