Hotel’s charity bid raises £250

THIS summer, Jurys Inn East Midlands Airport took to the road with hotel mascot, Leo The Luggage, to raise funds for charity, Derby City Mission.

Forming part of a wider Charity Challenge for Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK, the local hotel team helped Leo complete a leg of his trip around the UK by transporting him from East Midlands Airport to Hinckley Island via a sponsored cycle.

Before Leo set off on his travels, guests were invited to wave goodbye to him at a special ‘farewell’ party. Jurys Inn East Midlands Airport hosted a bake sale and raffle to encourage Leo on his way, with further fundraising activities planned throughout the summer. All proceeds from the charity donations and fund-raising activities were donated to Derby City Mission raising £250 to date.

The Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK & Ireland Charity Challenge will see Leo travel from Cork to London throughout the summer, covering 2,300 miles along the way.

Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK & Ireland aims to raise a total of £70,000 through the Charity Challenge.
