Iveshead students praised for hard work

-

IVESHEAD students are, once again, celebrating a fantastic set of examination results.

A spokesman said: “Our students have, rightly, had their hard-work, enthusiasm and positivity rewarded and are now able to move on with confidence. The demands of GCSEs and the requirements of the new examinations should never be underestimated and, as with Post16 last week, sincere thanks must go, once again, to both Iveshead staff, for their commitment and expertise as well as parents and carers that have supported along the way.

“We are always careful to celebrate the achievements of all of our students at Iveshead however, there are a number of students whose achievements should be recognised: Alexander Demaj includes an amazing five grade 9s in his results, Witiko Grevel who is celebrating three grade 9s and five grade 8s, Zoe Guy includes an incredible four grade 9s and three grade 8s in her results, Oliver Owen is celebrating four 9s and an A in Further Maths.

“Iveshead is not just about the grade 9s though and this year we are also thrilled to see so many students overcome personal difficulties and challenges to succeed.

Many of our students will be remaining at Iveshead as they continue into our Post16 to study A Levels whilst others head off to colleges and apprenticeships across the county and beyond. “

Headteacher, Matthew Parrott added: “This cohort of students started secondary school in Shepshed at the same time that I started as headteacher and it has been a pleasure to work alongside them and watch them develop into young adults that are able to celebrate a fantastic set of results. Congratulations to all and I look forward to welcoming so many of you into Year 12”.

Alison Riggall, Chair of Governors said: “Iveshead governors are immensely proud of our students’ excellent achievements this year. We know that these results show that our students make really good progress. This is all down to the students’ hard work, the superb expertise of their teachers and of course the support of their families. Our staff are extremely experienced in ensuring each and every student can achieve their potential, and we are delighted - but not surprised - that our students have done so well.”
