Bottom Railway BA extend lead at top of table

BEN Quenby hit his third maximum of the season for Bottom Railway BA as they extended their lead in Blue Ball Division One of the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs and Clubs Darts League to seven points following their 7-2 win against third place Barrow Cons Wagg’s Gang last week.

Gaz Smith hit two maximums, his fourth and fifth of the season, for Royal Oak DP as they lost 5-4 to second place Bull and Bush Lions and Lee Pervin also hit two maximums for the Wheeltappe­r Exiles as they beat the Royal Oak Reds 6-3. Kev Thomas now has four maximums for the season as he hit a second in two weeks for the Royal Oak Shooters in their 7-2 win against the Rose & Crown AW, and in the other game in the division Ring ‘o’ Bells MP beat the Three Crowns Spookies by the same score.

In Wanty’s Division Two, Spot On Mandems came from 4-2 down to beat the Three Nuns Albion 5-4 and take over at the top of the division from the Spot On Waifs & Strays who had their bye. Third place Crown Rejects whitewashe­d the Bull and Bush B 9-0 for the biggest win of the night and Frank Bray hit his fourth maximum of the season for the Crown Hotel as they lost 5-4 to Fat Sam’s 26er’s. With only four games remaining of the summer season Frank now leads outright in the hunt for the ’Most maximums in the season’ trophy for divisions two-five with a raft of other players still chasing on three each.

In S H Cox Division Three leaders Bull and Bush Laughing Boys beat their closest rivals Black Swan BWA 5-4 in the top of the table clash to extend their lead over them to twelve points. In the battle for third place the OEG 5&4’s had a trademark win against the Royal Oak Old Uns and Eric Davis hit a maximum for the Spot On Guys & Gals as they beat the Top Railway Chunkle Brothers 6-3.

In Generous Briton Division Four runaway leaders Top Railway Knockouts beat the Spot On Foxes 6-3 despite ‘Fox’ Kev Rennocks hitting his third maximum of the season. The ‘Knockouts’ are now fourteen points clear of second place Three Nuns Right Footers who beat the Crown GB 6-3 and still have a game in hand on their rivals.

Finally in Jim Kidger division five leaders Dewdrop Blues beat the Three Nuns Bad Habits 8-1 to maintain their eight point lead over the Windmill Wild Hearts for whom Sean Disney hit two maximums in their 8-1 win against Crown CS.
