LEICESTERSHIRE SENIOR LEAGUE THURNBY RANGERS DEVELOPMENT 0 SUTTON BONINGTON 10

SUTTON Bonington earned their first ever Leicestershire Senior League win in style as they smashed 10 goals past Thurnby Rangers Development.

Harry Burton was making his debut in goal, the back four was Pete Bewley, captain Elliott Cooke, debutant Matt Wright and Callum Halford-Harding. The midfield was James Wilks, Joe Fitzsimmons and Loz Wall with strikers Aaron Dawes, Jack Tormey and James Dann.

A first-half hat-trick from Jack Tormey set the tone for the afternoon as Sutton hit five goals in each half in what was a near perfect performance.

Reserve team manager Patrick Hood was standing in for manager Ash Mace as he lined his team up in a 4-3-3 formation and the side got off to a great start and opened the scoring inside the first minute after Dawes broke down the right and delivered a ball into the box for Dann to nod home off the post.

It wasn’t long after that when Tormey decided to get in the action with a quickfire 16-minute hat-trick, the assists coming from Dann, Bewley and Wright.

Sutton were completely on top and scored their fifth in the 19th minute when Dann played through Dawes who fired the ball into the back of the net for his first goal in a Sutton Bonington shirt.

After the break, Sutton once again looked to pile on the pressure and it wasn’t long before they found their sixth goal through James Wilks.

Further goals from Dann, Dawes (2) and debutant Jordan Crossland made it 10-0, the side’s first double figure goal haul for several years.
