Rose & Crown AW lose to the leaders

-

DUANE Freer’s 132 finish was the only highlight for Rose & Crown AW as they lost 8-1 to the leaders Bottom Railway BA in Blue Ball Division One of the Loughborough and District Pubs and Clubs Darts League last week.

Kev Bryan and James Hoult both hit maximums for a second week as their Bull and Bush Lions beat the Ring ‘o’ Bells MP 6-3 to keep alive a slim hope of wrestling the division one title from last season’s champions. However third place is still very much in the balance as only two points separate the Royal Oak Shooters who lost 6-3 to their pub rivals Royal Oak DP and Barrow Cons Wagg’s Gang who narrowly beat the Wheeltapper Exiles 5-4. In the other game in the division Jake Selby hit his fourth and Chris Pick his second maximum of the season for the Three Crowns Spookies as they beat the Royal Oak Reds 5-4.

In Wanty’s Division Two, leaders Spot On Mandems and second place Spot On Waifs & Strays both lost 5-4 to Bull and Bush B and the Three Nuns Albion respectively. It means that ‘the Mandems’ keep their four point lead at the top of the division but third place Crown Rejects close the gap to five points on the Waif & Strays with their 6-3 win against the Crown Hotel. Dave Jamieson currently leading in the season’s highest check out competition with a 157 finish hit a maximum for the Bell Foundry Blue Army as they beat Fat Sam’s 26er’s.

In S H Cox Division Three, the Bull and Bush Laughing Boys are still twelve points ahead of Black Swan BWA after both won 6-3, whilst Plough B beat the OEG 5&4’s to remain third. In Generous Briton Division Four, leaders Top Railway Knockouts had their bye but are still fourteen points clear of the Generous Briton Beer Legs. The ‘Beer legs’ replace the Three Nuns Right Footers in second place with their 6-3 win against the Paget Arms Hammers after the ‘Right footers’ lost 5-4 to the Black Swan JS who are now right back in the mix for a top three place.

Finally in Jim Kidger Division Five the Windmill Wild Hearts beat leaders Dewdrop Blues 8-1 in the top of the table clash and they now lead the division by seven points going into the final two league games one of which is a show down against the Dewdrop Blues and Blue Ball JLA who are contesting the second and third spots.

This Thursday is the finals night of both the Kater 4 Knockout Cup and Shield Competitions and is an ideal opportunity to catch up on any postponed league games that need to be played.
