DIVISION SHEPSHED DYNAMO 6 LEICESTER NIRVANA 0

SHEPSHED Dynamo maintained their 100% record in the Uhlsport United Counties League Premier Division with a resounding six goals to nil victory over Leicester Nirvana at The Dovecote Stadium on Saturday.

The result leaves them three points clear at the top of the table albeit Loughborough University have a game in hand as they were on FA Vase duty at the weekend and still yet to concede a goal in league action.

A hat trick from Liam Hurst, two from Harry Wakefield and one from John King were the providers of the three points for Dynamo.

Shepshed made one change from their victory over Harborough Town with Luke Moran replacing Karl Whymark.

Shepshed looked to impose themselves on Leicester Nirvana straight from the off. On two minutes after a good move between Moran and King, Wakefield fired wide and Wakefield was close again on ten minutes after Hurst and Reece Morris linked up his effort was blocked.

Despite the early pressure Shepshed were given a warning by the visitors on 13 minutes when Matty White who had gone 360 minutes without conceding a league goal was forced to save from Yeagan Gore.

Wakefield had a further chance for Dynamo and King had two efforts blocked on 17 minutes.

Dynamo continued to dominate the game Hurst firing wide on 19 minutes and Wakefield’s effort saved by Michael Antkowiak a minute later. With Niall Prendervilles effort blocked on 21 minutes.

Shepshed got their reward on 25 minutes Josh Egginton’s cross was missed by King but Hurst was on hand to fire against the underside of the crossbar and passed Antkowiak into the Nirvana net. There were few chances for either side for the remainder of the half. Aboubacar Cisse firing wide on the half hour mark for the visitors then Morris firing wide for Shepshed nine minutes later.

The final chance of the half fell to Cisse but Shepshed captain Jake Betts blocked his effort. Despite all the pressure Shepshed led by a solitary goal at half time.

Like the previous week Shepshed upped the tempo and turned on the style to put the result beyond doubt in the second half.

Dynamo were two to the good within two minutes King passing to Wakefield to beat the advancing Antowiak. Shepshed’s confidence was up with Betts hitting the cross bar on 51 minutes and King’s effort from the rebound blocked.

Shepshed were three up a minute later Wakefield brought down just inside the penalty area by Jahdahtin Harper and Wakefield got up to slot the spot kick although Antkowiak was unfortunate as he got his hand to the penalty but couldn’t stop the ball from going in.

Leicester Nirvana didn’t give up and after a short back pass Gore fired wide on the hour mark and White was forced into a save prior to this on 56 minutes with a save from Cisse.

Hurst then fired high and wide on 65 minutes but a minute later the fourth goal arrived King doing well to steel the ball back from Nirvana and Hurst scored his second of the game shooting passed Antkowak.

It was five on 74 minutes with Hurst completing his hat trick. Hurst running onto a clearance beating Harper and slotting under Antkowiak..

King then headed against the crossbar on 78 minutes and Wakefield squandered a further effort.

King completed the scoring and made it 6-0 on 85 minutes rounding Antkowiak and firing passed the forlorn Nirvana defender on the goal line.

An all-round comprehensive performance from Shepshed Dynamo. A game they dominated for 90 minutes.

The result leaves Shepshed top of the table and with a perfect unbeaten record and Matty White added another league clean sheet to his record.

Shepshed travel to Sleaford Town on Saturday.
