BETVICTOR NORTHERN PREMIER LEAGUE DIVISION ONE EAST

LINCOLN UNITED 4 LOUGHBOROUGH DYNAMO 1 LOUGHBOROUGH Dynamo suffered a third consecutive away defeat after they lost 4-1 at Lincoln United on Saturday afternoon.

First-half strikes from Kallum Smith and Danny North helped the hosts go into a 2-0 lead at the break.

Curtis Burrows pulled one back for Dynamo before goals from Mark Gray and Noel Burdett sealed the victory for the Whites.

Loughborough boss Lee Attenborough made three changes to the side that beat Lincoln last weekend.

Henry Eze, Josh Eggington and Curtis Burrows all replaced Luke Thorogood, Charlie Scanlon and Danny Gordon in the starting line-up.

The hosts started the brighter of the two sides and created two great opportunities within the first 11 minutes.

Firstly, a long-throw in caused havoc in the Dynamo box and it fell to Smith who’s low shot was well saved by Jay Alexander.

Then moments later, North was played in one-on-one with Alexander, but the Dynamo ‘keeper stood tall and caught the striker’s clipped effort.

Loughborough grew into the contest but were dealt a huge blow when Charlie Young was sent off after a late challenge on Smith.

Five minutes later, Lincoln took the lead. Jack Wightwick’s cross was steered home by Smith from close range.

The Whites continued to apply pressure on the Dynamo back four and they conjuredup a superb chance to double their advantage.

Smith jinked inside and fired an effort which was excellently blocked by Eze before Steadman cleared the ball off the line.

Lincoln kept creating opportunities and their good work was rewarded when they deservedly added a second six minutes from the break.

Carl Sibson’s error allowed Jamie Goddard to square the ball across for North to slot home from 12-yards as they went into halftime with a 2-0 lead

Dynamo came out of the blocks flying at the start of the second period and they pulled a goal back within the first 45 seconds.

Steadman’s cross found Burrows who slammed the ball into the top corner for his sixth goal of the season.

Dynamo kept pressing in an attempt to grab an equaliser, and they created a superb chance to do so in the 53rd minute.

Rob Norris whipped a ball into the box which was met by Ryan Robbins at the back post, but he couldn’t direct his header just wide of target.

Loughborough were made to pay for that missed opportunity as Lincoln scored a third 19 minutes from time.

Wightwick’s corner was emphatically headed into the corner by Gray as the Whites re-opened their two-goal cushion.

Dynamo pushed to try and get back in the game, but that left space in behind for Lincoln to break on the counter attack.

The hosts’ fourth goal might’ve been against the run of play, but it was superbly taken by substitute Burdett, who came inside and placed a shot into the corner of the net.

Minutes later, the referee blew the final whistle as Dynamo remain without a league win away from home this season.
