Help fund hospice bills - with chance to win big

- PETE WARRINGTON peter.warrington@reachplc.com

EVERY year staff at Rainbow’s Hospice administer over 21,600 doses of medication, carry out 6,500 loads of washing and provide 18,500 meals.

They also use more than 7,000 eggs, 52,200 teabags and 1,500kg of potatoes which contributes to the annual cost of over £6m that it takes to run the Loughborough-based charity.

Now people in Loughborough can help fund the hospice by taking part in its Big Christmas Raffle and give themselves a chance to win £5,000 in the process!

Other cash prizes of £250, £100 and £50 are up for grabs as well and tickets are now available costing £1. The draw will take place on Friday, December 13, and tickets can be purchased until Friday, December 6.

Helen Lee-Smith, Head of Individual Giving at Rainbows, said: “Less than 20 percent of our funding comes from the Government and statutory sources. We rely on the generosity of our supporters for their donations of money and time to help fund essential medicine, food and housekeeping at our hospice.

“Getting involved with the Big Christmas Raffle is an easy way to help and every penny goes to ensuring we can provide the very best care for babies, children, young people and their families at times when they need us the most.

“Not only that, the lucky winner will receive the £5,000 gift in time for Christmas – how amazing is that?”

To buy tickets, contact 01509 638000, email helen.leesmith@rainbows. co. uk, or visit rainbows.co.uk/bigchristmasraffle. Tickets can also be bought at the hospice in Loughborough and in the Rainbows shop in Cattle Market.
