STAFF at a village-based landscape supplier have given their time to renovate the Eco Garden at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People as well as donating more than £3,000.

As part of its 110th birthday celebrations, Brett Landscaping wanted to encourage its employees and peers to support the charity, which cares for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses.

Jo Taylor, senior systems and customer operations manager at Brett Landscaping, based in Barrowupon-Soar, said: “We were delighted to have been given the opportunity to offer our services and show our gratitude to Rainbows, it is a wonderful charity.

“As well as renovating the Eco Garden, we offered helping hands to organise their storeroom by sorting clothes and labelling items to become shop ready. We also rolled up our sleeves and re-decorated areas to provide a fresh look and feel.

“Undertaking these tasks required a combined effort from multiple individuals and local businesses, so we would like to say a huge thank you to the following people who helped us make a difference to this deserving charity. Our Brett Approved Installer, David Greaves Landscape Design & Construction who dedicated his time and hard work into the installation of the Eco Garden; William Hercocks Ltd who donated building sand and cement; P&R Building Supplies who donated sharp sand; Wincanton plc who helped to deliver the products to site and of course our employees here at Brett, who volunteered their time and worked together to make it all happen.”

Kate Golding, head of organisational giving at Rainbows, said: “On behalf of everyone at Rainbows, I would like to thank the team from Brett Landscaping for their incredible support.

“The Eco Garden is a tranquil place where parents and staff often go to think and reflect. It is also a place where children can explore nature. To have a new path, which makes it more accessible for wheelchairs, is just fantastic.

“And the time spent painting corridors and sorting out one of our biggest store rooms, is just invaluable to us.”
