The Old English Gentlemen 5&4’s produce cup upset in preliminar­y round of Kater 4 Knockout Cup

EIGHT preliminar­y round games of the winter 2019 Kater 4 Knockout Cup were played last week in the Loughborou­gh & District Pubs and Clubs Darts League.

The biggest upset of the night belongs to the Old English Gentlemen 5&4’s presently languishin­g at the bottom of S H Cox Division Three and without a league win so far this season who beat the Rose & Crown Exiles who are currently third in Wanty’s Division Two. Michael Sciepanow hit his second maximum of the season for the Spot On Guys ‘n’ Gals as they also overcame higher league opposition with their 5-4 win against the Crown Rejects.

Competitio­n this season will comprise of the losing teams from both the preliminar­y and first rounds of the main Kater 4 Knockout Cup together with all the Jim Kidger Division Five sides.

There were also several re-arranged league games played from Divisions 1-4 and a full fixture list of Division Five games. In Blue Ball Division One Chris Pick and Jake Selby both hit maximums for the Three Crowns Spookies as they beat Spot On Mandem 5-4 and Barrow Cons Wagg’s Gang move up to fourth place after they beat the Rose & Crown AW by the same score. Three Nuns Albion 5-4 and they also move up to fourth in the division, whilst in S H Cox Division Three the Generous Briton Beer Legs beat the Beacon 5-4.

In Jim Kidger Division Five the Red Lion Rams and OEG Luffs share top spot after both had good wins with the Barrow Cons Convicts and Windmill CD just a point behind them in joint second.
