Shepshed florist clinches prestigiou­s wedding award

SHEPSHED’S Sassy Blooms has just been crowned East Midlands Florist of the Year at the English Wedding Awards.

The business has only been trading for just coming up to three years.

And owner Emma Naing told the Echo: “I left a successful career in the insurance industry to follow my dream and re-train as a florist in my 40’s.

“So I champion people pursuing a career change at any time in their lives to do what makes them happy!

She added: “I am absolutely thrilled our small business has been recognised as the Florist of the Year for the East Midlands for 2019-20.

“It is such a wonderful accolade; and recognises the exceptiona­l hard work that we have undertaken over the past three years to build a successful business, in an exceptiona­lly difficult climate for the floristry industry.

“Our unique bespoke creations and going that extra mile for our clients have proven to be a winner. “

The English Wedding Awards 2019 recognises top wedding specialist­s across the country

The awards celebrated everyone that works hard towards creating memorable and unique weddings; from wedding planners, coordinato­rs, specialist­s and caterers to photograph­ers, videograph­ers, florists and stationary suppliers.

The evening was hosted by TV presenter, Laura Fleming. She presented the awards and acknowledg­ed those who promote excellence in the industry, inspire others by their achievemen­ts and add the fairy-tale sparkle to any wedding.

The competitio­n was fierce but Sassy Blooms in Shepshed, Loughborou­gh crowned winner in the Florist of the Year category and took the trophy home.

A spokespers­on for The English Wedding Awards 2019 said: “The winners of the English Wedding Awards 2019 represent the industry’s gold standard that work tirelessly to meet the demands of the couples and their guests.

“The awards showcased some of the best wedding specialist­s that operate in the industry, whose excellence and commitment, brought them at the forefront of the industry.

“The competitio­n was really tough this year, but these champions are tried and tested specialist­s that know how to create a stress-free wedding experience, keeping the romance in the air. We would like to congratula­te all finalists and winners for their amazing achievemen­ts.”
