SILEBY METHODIST CHURCH.

-

What a lovely week it was last week.

The ladies from our Church attended the St Mary’s Ladies Fellowship Christmas Dinner at Beadles Lake Golf Club on Tuesday, December 3, and we all had a lovely time with very good food and, of course, the fellowship was inspiring. Thank you so much to the organisers for all their hard work.

Thursday, 5th, saw Cafe@ Chapel open at 9.30-11.00 and grateful thanks to everyone who helped Brenda. We do have a marvellous crowd of folk who attend weekly and we are so thankful for your continued support.

It was the same on Saturday, 7th, when Betty and Ann took over the reigns.

Next week on Thursday, 12th, it is our Christmas Lunch Party and we look forward to welcoming everyone who has purchased tickets.

It looks as if it will be a sell- out. It says 12noon on the tickets and that will allow folk to settle down and get sorted ready for the food being served at approx. 12.30pm. We should have a lovely time.

On Sunday, 8th, Colin Lamb was our preacher for this second Sunday in Advent. The service concerned John the Baptist who gives us hope at all times because his message concerns the coming of the Saviour of the world.

It was a lovely service with Christmas hymns for Advent and Martyn was our DJ. Colin writes lovely prayers which covered all the concerns we have with occurrences in the world and at home. |

Next week it is our Carol Service with Granville, our Lay Pastor. It commences at 10.30am and we would be delighted if you could join us.

On Sunday, 22nd December, Rev Andrew Lomax, our Circuit Superintendent, will being a service of Holy Communion at 10.30am and on Tuesday, 24th December, at 3pm, it will be our Christingle Service when we enjoy learning about the real meaning of Christmas and making our Christingles.

There will be a Christmas Day Service at Barrow Methodist Church at 10.30am and the following week (29th) Granville will again be our preacher.

Do come along, we will be pleased to meet you.
