PARK IMPROVEMEN­TS. Willoughby Community Park Associatio­n continue to look to find ways to improve what is offered for visitors to their facility.

One of the latest facilities has been the constructi­on of the new shelter which has now been completed and used. “We do hope everyone enjoys using it, both in rain or shine!” is the message from the associatio­n, adding that they are now looking to fund-raise for more new equipment and facilities.

“If anyone has any great ideas or suggestion­s on how we can improve our community park, please speak to a member of the committee,” they say.

The associatio­n have put out a polite reminder to all dog owners to keep their dogs on the lead whilst enjoying the park.

CAROLS FOR ALL. Everybody is invited to the ‘Carols for All’ service at St. Mary’s and All Saints Parish Church in Willoughby on the Wolds on Sunday, December 15.

Many of the traditiona­l Christmas carols will be sung, everybody will have an opportunit­y to join in the singing and the service will begin at 6pm. CHRISTMAS MARKET.

Villagers and visitors turned out in large numbers for the Christmas Market at St. Mary’s and All Saints Parish Church at Willoughby on the Wolds.

Attraction­s included mulled wine and mince pies, festive stalls, a charity tombola and prize draw and people were encouraged to wear their Christmas jumpers.

The Christmas Market raised fundx for local charities.

SOUL MUSIC NIGHT. An evening of soul music and dancing at Willoughby on the Wolds Village Hall raised funds to purchase new chairs for the hall.

Organisers of the event said it was ‘an excellent night with a fantastic set from a live band which got everybody on the dance floor and a tasty fish and chip supper.’

A total of £1,065 was raised from the event and this funding will enable the Village Hall Committee to purchase new chairs to replace the old plastic furniture.
