On-Call firefighters recruitment drive
ON-CALL firefighters are being recruited by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service for stations across the county.
Being an On-Call firefighter, you will carry an alerter and respond to emergency calls.
You must live and/or work within a set travel time from the fire and rescue station you serve. This can be discussed and agreed with the relevant managers for each station.
On-Call firefighters do not work full-time, but are paid to spend some periods of their time available on-call to respond to emergency incidents. Many have full-time jobs, others maybe self-employed or stay at home parents.
The deadline for submitting an application is Wednesday, January 29.
If you are interested in the role and want to find out more, get in touch with your local On-Call fire and rescue station. You may be able to attend their weekly drill night, where you will find out first-hand about the role and meet your potential future colleagues.
Rick Taylor, Chief Fire and Rescue Officer, said: “On-Call firefighters play a vital role at Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service and they help us provide the very best service to the local communities we serve.
“We hope to encourage members of our local communities to come forward, find out more about being an On-Call firefighter and ultimately apply for a role.
“This is a real opportunity for honest members of our local communities, who are looking for a rewarding job where they can also give something positive back to their local community.”
