Kater 4 Cup second round action

THE SECOND round games of the winter 2019 Kater 4 Knockout Cup and first round games of the Shield Knockout Cup were played last week in the Loughborough & District Pubs and Clubs Darts League.

In the only all division one tie of the Kater 4 Knockout Cup Ring ‘o’ Bells SH narrowly beat the Bull and Bush Lions 5-4 and they join six other top flight teams who won their games to progress through to the last eight of the competition. In the only tie not involving a Division One side the Beacon, presently second in Division Three, beat the leaders of Division Four Fennel Street Clubbers 5-4 to inflict only their second defeat of the season despite Dave Marson hitting his fourth maximum of the season for the ‘Clubbers’.

In the Shield Knockout Competition there were excellent wins for Top Railway We’re Frit, Dewdrop Blues and Bottom Railway CS over higher league opposition and Michael Sciepanow also hit his fourth maximum of the season for the Spot On Guys ‘n’ Gals in a 5-4 defeat to the Black Swan BWA.

The draw for the quarterfinals of the Kater 4 Knockout Cup and second round of the Shield Knockout Competitions will take place on Thursday February 20 at the Rose & Crown, Loughborough for games to be played on Thursday, March 5, 2020
