BETVICTOR NORTHERN PREMIER LEAGUE DIVISION ONE EAST

CARLTON TOWN 2 LOUGHBOROUGH DYNAMO 3 LOUGHBOROUGH Dynamo made it three wins on the bounce thanks to another late winner from Karl Demidh at the Bill Stokeld Stadium.

Demidh won the game at the death again after Loughborough were pegged back by Carlton in the second-half having been two goals to good thanks to goals from Curtis Burrows and Alex Steadman either side of half time.

It was a tense start to the game in what were difficult conditions for both sides on a piercingly cold Wednesday evening.

The referee was quick to go into his book in what turned into a physical battle, with a total of 10 yellow cards being shown throughout the game, including a red for game-winner Demidh at the end of the game.

Dynamo had penalty shout early on when Demidh was knocked off his feet as he chased down a ball over the Carlton defence, however, the referee deemed it a fair challenge.

Clear-cut chances were few and far between in the first half, but the crucial moment of the half came right at the end as Manuchim OkeWilliam was brought down in the box. A penalty was given and Burrows slotted it away to give the Moes the lead at the break.

Dynamo started the second half as they ended the first and they were rewarded for their forward pressure as Steadman latched onto Burrows’ corner kick at the near post to double Loughborough’s lead.

It could have easily have been three when more chances for Burrows and Oke-William went astray, and the hosts took advantage of this opportunity as they halved the deficit just past the hour mark through target man Aaron Opoku.

Carlton upped the pressure from that point on and just under ten minutes later they had equalised as Oliver Clark headed in a free-kick from the right-hand side.

Once again the game hung in the balance, with the scores gridlocked at two apiece, kept that way thanks to an excellent fingertip save by Jack Steggles in the Carlton goal as a curling effort from Burrows from just outside the box was heading for the top right corner of the net.

Although just as it did on Saturday against Newcastle Town, the winning goal arrived in the dying seconds from Demidh.

Danny Gordon’s deep cross from the left found Demidh at the back post who did the rest to secure Dynamo their third win on the bounce.
