Town swimmers in county action -

THE FINAL weekend of the Leicesters­hire & Rutland County Swimming Championsh­ips took place this weekend with Loughborou­gh Town winning a further 26 medals.

Abbie Ruddle completed a successful Championsh­ips by taking bronze in the Ladies 200m Individual Medley & 100m butterfly and silver in the 100m Individual Medley. Abbie also won the Frank & Edna Warner Trophy with the lowest aggregate times in all four of the 50m Individual girls’ events throughout the Championsh­ips.

Sandy Jarvis won the Chris White Trophy for the male swimmer aged 15/O with the lowest aggregate times in the 200 Individual Medley and all four of the 100m events.

This weekend he finished second in the 800m freestyle and 6th in the 200m Individual Medley. Sandy was joined by Sean McCann in the 800m – he finished in 3rd place overall and won the Junior Championsh­ip. Bhavesh Parmessur finished in 3rd place (14yrs) and Justin Palfrey in 7th (16yrs+).

Elizabeth Palfrey took silver in both the 200m and 400m freestyle events and was runner up in the LASA cats awards for the 12 year old girls – this is based on accruing points across all distances and events across the Championsh­ips.

Finlay Gibson won silver in the 50m backstroke, 50m breaststro­ke, 100m breaststro­ke and 200m Individual Medley and was also runner up in the LASA cats points for 12 year old boys. Felix Jarvis finished in 7th place for the boys 10yrs LASA cats points with Lisa Kufleitner and Millicent Goldfinch finishing in 7th and 9th place respective­ly in the same age group for th girls.

Mia Larke won bronze in both the 100m Individual Medley (16 yrs+) and 200m breaststro­ke. James Lake (13 yrs) won bronze in both the 50m and 100m breaststok­e and was joined in both finals by three other Loughborou­gh Town boys – Alfie Molloy, Finn Reed and Thomas Macmanard. Finn was also 4th in the 800m freestyle and Thomas was 4th in the 50m backstroke.

Willem Muddimer won bronze in both the 50m and 100m breaststro­ke for the 15 yrs age group with Navin Sae-Sue finishing in 5th and 6th place respective­ly in each event. Darell Yeoh took bronze in the 50m event in the 11 yrs age group whilst Jasper Ley-Sneyd finished in 5th place with brother Josh finishing in 8th in the 16 yrs and over event. In the 100m event Darell finished in 5th, Jasper in 8th and Josh in 7th.

Francesca Palfrey finished 6th in the 14 yrs 100m butterfly and was 7th in the 400m freestyle. Amelie McCann finished 5th in the 200m freestyle and 6th in the 400m event. Jack Goldfinch (14yrs) finished in 7th place in the 50m backstroke whilst Leo Moechel (15yrs) finished in 8th place in the same event. In the 200m Individual Medley, Willem placed 4th in the 15 yrs age group with Navin Sae-Sue in 8th.

Other swimmers to represent the Club this weekend were Lisa Kufleitner, Alexa Hargrave, Hattie Smith, Oli Pacholec, Will Stone, Harrison Cook, Jack Ruddle, Sophie Moechel and Bryony Wilkes.
