Warm welcome at the U3A

-

HI EVERYONE, I can’t believe we are already in February.

For those of you who are retired or living alone, please don’t be lonely.

Have you thought of a new hobby or meet new friends, go on days out or even short holidays.

Why not consider joining the U3A, there are many groups all over the country and they all offer friendship and all of the above.

Currently Loughborough U3A have approximately 170 members, new members are always very welcome.

There are 31 groups ranging from photography, crafts, garden visits, music appreciation, Shakespeare, meditation, Lunch on Sunday and many more.

We have a monthly meeting with a speaker, cup of coffee/tea and biscuits plus information on up and coming trips, days out etc.

We also have a coffee morning every eight weeks with tea / coffee and home made cakes, a great morning to get to know other members and group leaders are often there.

January’s speaker was Rose. Topic Joyce Grenfell OBE who was an actress and comedian. Rose was an excellent speaker knowledgeable and funny, there was a lot of head nodding and laughter as she shared some of the stories.

The next meeting is on February 19, the speaker is Wendy Coley, topic Medical Detection Dogs.

The meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month 2pm at: United Reformed Church, Frederick Street, Loughborough, LE11 3BH.

The next coffee morning is on 28th February 10.30am -12.30pm and are held at Loughborough Tennis Club, Ingle Pingle, LE11 3NP

The next day out is to the museum of time keeping in April .

The next Lunch on Sunday is the February 16 at Quordon Fox Hotel.

I hope this has wetted your appetites and you would consider joining us, we look forward to seeing new members and you will be warmly welcomed
