WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 12

Talk about the wonder of trees by Helen Exley, arborist with Loughborou­gh University, at Woodhouse Eaves Village Hall, Main Street, Woodhouse Eaves. The talk will start at 7.30pm and Helen will talk about how people can be good to trees as well as discussing the creatures and things that live in them. The talk is hosted by the Charnwood Group of the Leicesters­hire and Rutland Wildlife Trust and admission is £2.50 for LRWT members, £3 for visitors and children free. Refreshmen­ts included. All welcome and further details about the trust can be found at https://www.lrwt.org.uk/ Fearon Hall in Rectory Road providing free meals from noon every Wednesday throughout February and March, followed by good company and activities until 2pm. Flix student run cinema will screen The Farewell at the Cope Auditorium in Loughborou­gh at 7pm. There will be pre-screening adverts and trailers for our upcoming films before this screening lasting no more than 20 minutes. Adverts help provide additional revenue that help keep Flix running. Colourful carnival is coming to Charnwood Museum in Loughborou­gh. There are colours aplenty at the Granby Street museum - have a go at their free Mardi Gras-inspired gallery game. It will take place during usual museum opening times from Saturday, February 15, to Saturday, February 22.

Loughborou­gh Market Traders will bring townsfolk a Valentine’s Day Celebratio­n in the town centre. There will be romantic music by Dave Shepherd, a raffle to win a meal for two at Caravelli’s in Loughborou­gh, and the first 50 ladies to enter the raffle will receive a red rose. It will take place between 9am and 4pm.

Russell Kane’s The Fast And The Curious show is coming to Loughborou­gh Town Hall tonight at 8pm.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 16

Christian Aid Soup Lunch at St Botolph’s Church Hall, Shepshed. People are being encouraged to drop in between 11.30pm -1.30pm. It’s £5 for soup, a roll, dessert and tea or coffee and £2 for a children’s meal of sandwiches, crisps, grapes and a drink. All proceeds to Christian Aid.

New group is launching in Loughborou­gh aimed at people with epilepsy and people close to them. The launch of The Loughborou­gh Coffee and Chat Group meeting will take place at The Crafty Fox pub, Market Street, Loughborou­gh, from 10.30am-12.30pm. The group will then meet on the third Monday of each month from 10.30am-12.30pm. Go along and meet other people for a chat and a cup of tea or coffee.
