A SEASON best 17 maximums were recorded across the five divisions of the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs & Clubs Darts League last week.

Steve Hopkins hit a hat trick and Rich Greasley one for the Ring ‘o’ Bells as they lost 5-4 to second place Bull and Bush Lions, whilst Chris Peat hit two for leaders Bottom Railway BA and Luke Askew two for Royal Oak DP in a game just edged 5-4 by the leaders. Dave Cox hit his seventh of the season for Barrow Cons Wagg’s Gang as they beat Spot On Mandem 6-3 and Michael Walker hit one for the Three Crowns Spookies as they beat the Three Nuns Bluemoon Foxes 7-2 twice in a night, one a re-arranged game.

In Wanty’s Division Two Paul Waldron hit two maximums for leaders Spot On Waifs & Strays as they beat Black Swan BWA 5-4 but both the Rose & Crown Exiles and Crown Rejects, for whom Steve Burton hit a maximum, won 6-3 to keep the pressure on the leaders. League Chairman Danny Sharpe hit his fourth maximum of the season for the Three Nuns Albion but they were again on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat, their seventh of the season, this time losing to fellow strugglers Fat Sam’s 26er’s.

In S H Cox Division Three Kev Barnes hit a maximum for the Beacon as they beat the Crown Hotel 7-2, but Bull and Bush B are now only five points behind them with a game in hand after their 9-0 win against the Royal Oak Old Uns.

In Generous Briton Division Four leaders Fennel Street Clubbers now need only six more points from their remaining three games to wrap up the division title after their 8-1 win against the Anchor, Hathern. The Three Nuns Right Footers beat Crown GB 6-3 and Windmill Wild Hearts beat the Dewdrop Blues by the same score in the chase for second place.

Finally in Jim Kidger Division Five Jay Laver hit a maximum for the Top Railway Laffables in their narrow 5-4 loss to leaders Red Lion Rams but the Barrow Convicts, still unbeaten all season, are poised just three points behind them after their 7-2 win against Bottom Railway CS.
