LEAGUE QUORN AFC 2 DESBOROUGH

TOWN FC 0 QUORN needed a good performance at Farley Way Stadium after a performance that was not up to their normal standards midweek against Holbeach United.

Despite coming away from the coast with a point, it was all about how they reacted in the hope of continuing pressure on Shepshed Dynamo and Rugby Town.

Quorn started the day four points ahead of the pack and they needed a win to keep their hopes alive of lifting the UCL Premier Division Title at the end of April.

Within three minutes, Rackeem Reid put himself around the Quorn box to get his foot to a pinball game in the Desborough penalty area to score.

In the seventh minute, Quorn got a free-kick in a great position with midfielder Nathan Dale stepping up to hit and score the freekick, hitting the top left and top right posts before falling onto the bottom of The Desborough goal.

Quorn remained dangerous and enjoyed a very high percentage of the ball in possession for the continuation of the first half, but was not able to materialise any more goals for their hard work.

In the second half it was a much more even affair and both sides had lots of passing movement but not many shots came to pass. All the damage and energy was done 1st Half by Quorn. Nothing wrong with enjoying being on the ball.

Quorn are still four points clear in first place of the UCL Premier Division. Shepshed Dynamo and Rugby Town both won at the weekend so it will be the case of who slips that will determine the winners and losers this season.

Quorn were due to play Oadby Town FC on Tuesday night, but all league games have now been postponed.
