Limited edition t-shirt to aid hospice

-

RAINBOWS Hospice for Children and Young People has teamed up with Popgear to launch a limited edition t-shirt, with proceeds from sales supporting the charity.

Already proving popular with celebrities, including Coronation Street star, Charlie de Melo, Great British Bake Off contestant, Priya O’Shea, and former Leicester City defender, Jack Hobbs, the charity t-shirt features a rainbow motif and glitter clouds above “It’s cool to be kind” text.

The Loughborough hospice for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and official licensed character clothing retailer, Popgear, have created the limited edition t-shirt, available exclusively on Popgear’s website.

Starting from £6.99 and available in both child sizes (six-years-old to twelve-years-old) and adults (small to XXL), proceeds from the t-shirt will be donated to Rainbows, which is currently supporting more than 450 children and young people with life-limiting conditions living in the East Midlands; while also supporting the NHS during Covid-19.

Kate Golding, head of organisational giving at Rainbows, said: “We’re so thrilled to be working with Popgear and very grateful for their support. We think the t-shirt looks really cool as well as being a great way to generate income for us here at Rainbows.”

Avneet Mattu, managing director at Popgear, said: “During this difficult time Popgear, a new start up selling licensed clothing and accessories, wanted to give back and to help a local charity that is really struggling. Using our connections and printing facilities we decided that the best way to help would be to print some charity t-shirts.

“We reached out to Rainbows as a local charity who offer families the best care and support during such difficult times to see if they would be interested. Over the past few weeks we have worked hard with the Rainbows team to launch a t-shirt for both adults and children, where all profits go straight to Rainbows Hospice, so they can continue their amazing work. We hope the local community gets behind this and support Rainbows in any way they can.”

Kate added: “Due to having to temporarily close our five shops and postpone all fund-raising events for the foreseeable future, we are set to lose a significant income. Buying one of these limited edition t-shirts is the perfect way for people in Leicester to continue to support us, so we can continue to provide vital help and support to families going through the most difficult of times.”
