Council wants to recognise its local heroes...
COMMUNITIES, businesses and individuals have been pulling together and doing amazing things during the coronavirus pandemic - and North West Leicestershire District Council wants to recognise those efforts.
The local hero campaign is aiming to thank those that are going above and beyond to support their communities in a variety of different ways.
There are countless reasons to put forward a North West Leicestershire hero an individual, group, business or charity can be nominated. Examples might include:
• A community group making an outstanding contribution
• An individual going above
and beyond to support someone in need
• Someone responsible for

• Those put forward are being
publicly thanked through the council’s social media channels in a bid to highlight the extraordinary work being done.
Nominations can be submitted online at www.nwleics.gov.uk/ localhero
Coun Richard Blunt, Leader of the district council, said: “We’re doing everything we can to support our communities, businesses and residents through these difficult times, but we haven’t been doing it alone.
“There are countless individuals, community groups, charities and business owners doing amazing a things to help others out of the goodness of their hearts. We want to thank those people now but also have this information available to us in the future, so when we look back on this pandemic we can reflect on the community spirit that was harnessed in North West Leicestershire.
“Thank you to everyone that is going the extra mile to support others, your efforts are not going unnoticed.”
