BUSINESSES have been taking up the opportunity of a free advert in The Echo, and online, after Charnwood Borough Council launched the Charnwood

inBusiness campaign.

The campaign is designed help local companies connect with their customers as they battle back from the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The council has teamed up with the Loughborough and Shepshed Echo, Leicester Mercury and Leicestershire Live, to offer local companies the chance to take a free advert and let tens of thousands of people know that they are very much open for business.

The council will also highlight local businesses, their successes and their stories, on its own social media accounts and website as part of the campaign.

More than 50 firms have signed up already but there is still time for more to task advantage of the offer.

Coun Jonathan Morgan, Leader of

Charnwood Borough Council, said: “As social distancing restrictions continue to ease, we are keen to support local businesses in any way we can and one key issue for local companies will be about reconnecting with their customers.

“We are really pleased to be working with the Leicester Mercury, Leicestershire Live, Loughborough Echo and Fosse 107 and offer companies the chance to reach people.

“We will also use the campaign to celebrate the successes of local companies and share their stories as they make their way back to the ‘new normal’ .”

Andy Rush, editor of the Echo said:

“It’s a fantastic initiative, these companies are an important part of the economic life-blood of the area and need all the support they can possibly get as we come out of the crisis.”

The Charnwood inBusiness offer of a free advert is only open to businesses based in Charnwood.

Businesses can apply online before midnight on July 1 and there is a limit to the number of businesses which can be supported.
