They are rushing headlong towards a no deal Brexit

-

PEOPLE or Politics?

Do you think people are more important than politics? If I asked you that question, I am guessing that you would say “yes”. It is time that the government took that on board.

Pharmaceutical companies have warned that the UK could face shortages of vital medicines if talks with the EU fail as global supplies remain so low that it would be difficult to replenish our stockpiles.

The business community has also made it clear that many firms won’t survive if they have to cope with the disruption of a no deal on top of all the damage done by the coronavirus. We are already facing the worst recession for 300 years and millions of people in the UK are facing unemployment.

The last thing we need is the threat of a no deal Brexit this winter on top of the very real threat of a second wave of coronavirus. We have suffered enough.

However, Johnson is insisting on threatening us with no deal. He doesn’t seem to care about the consequences for you and me.

The government needs to focus now on the response to the coronavirus and then on getting a good deal with the EU They should accept that they need to extend the transition period to do both things well.

The government are building up an impressive track record of spectacular U turns, not to mention abandoning flagship projects. Rushing headlong towards a no deal Brexit is another project that they should throw overboard. As quickly as possible!
