Fox stuck in garden bench

A SMALL fox had to be rescued after it became stuck in a garden bench on Sunday afternoon.

Leicesters­hire Fire and Rescue Service were called out to save the helpless animal at around 1.08pm.

The incident took place in Main Street, Long Whatton. One appliance was dispatched from Castle Donington Station.

The fox had suffered a broken leg as a result of becoming trapped.

Leicesters­hire Fire and Rescue Service Castle Donington station published a post on Facebook after it was rescued.

It read: “This little fox got itself into a bit of bother. But luckily our crew was on hand to release its hind leg that had been trapped in the picnic table.

“It has an injured leg so crew manager Carnan is giving it a cuddle until the RSPCA arrive.”

The fox has now been handed over to the RSPCA which will continue to care for it.
