Open window burglary warning

-

TWO burglaries took place in Loughborough on Saturday afternoon.

Sgt Chris Wharton, of Charnwood NPA, has provided details to make residents aware of the situation.

On Saturday, July 4, at about 3.15pm, an occupant of a house in Durham Road, Loughborough reported via intercom that a male in dark clothing had just entered her property and stolen items.

And on the same day between 1pm and 3pm, an occupant of a house in Herbert Street, Loughborough, woke up to find property had been stolen.

It is thought the suspect may have entered the properties via an open bedroom window and made off on a bike.

Sgt Wharton said: “They both involved elderly victims and I would like to remind people to close windows and doors at all times, keep your property secure and if you live near an elderly or lone person, please check in on them.

“If you have any information that may help with these incidents please call 101, quoting reference 20*341190.”
