Poor stallion stuck on field gate

-

A STALLION needed a helping hand after getting stuck on a gate in Loughborough.

A member of the public spotted the stricken horse with the front of his body on one side of the gate and his back legs on the other.

RSPCA officer Jack Curran was called to the paddock off Empress Road, Loughborough, last month.

Jack said: “The horse had tried to get over the gate and got stuck in this position. The caller reported that he had some bloody cuts and appeared exhausted from trying to get over the gate.

“Thankfully, when I arrived, I was able to track down his owner from our own local contacts and he

came down to the field to help.

“We were able to free him from the gate. We checked him over and luckily he hadn’t done himself any serious harm so we led him back to his own

field.”
