Best foot forward for history trail

THE lockdown has seen new interest in a history trail designed to showcase Shepshed’s hidden treasures.

‘Discovering Shepshed’s Secrets’ is a leaflet produced by the the Shepshed Partnership which details a numbered history trail throughout the town starting at the Hall Croft, highlighting town landmarks and encouraging the use of local facilities. The trail can be joined at any point on foot or cycle and is never far from the town centre.

A spokesman for the town council said: “It has created new interest especially with the increase in new residents and the lockdown enforcing people to stay local.”
